For those few who have been here, they can bear testament to the beautiful variety of animals such as the big 5 (Buffalo, Elephant, Rhino, Leopard and Rhino) and an amazing variety of birds for those who find bird watching exhilarating. Here, you will also find the Masai community well known for their beautiful culture and their traditional bright red blankets and multicolored traditional jewelry. You will get to join them in song and dance and also have a look at their homes and how well they co-exist with nature. The Mara is also well known for the great spectacle that is the Wildebeest migration, as they jump across the Mara River in a daring attempt to avoid the crocodiles’ jaws of death. It is known as the 7th wonder of the world and rightfully so.

2. The Coast
This is an exotic paradise especially if one was avoiding the cold winters. The sandy, palm fringed beaches are perfect for sunbathing, beach sports, camel riding and a host of other fun activities. The warm waters of the Indian Ocean are host to several water sports, big game fishing, and swimming. The Marine parks and Coral reefs are home to beautiful and colorful fish and dolphins. The native people that inhabit the coastal region are known for their hospitality and friendly nature. Enjoy the wide array of architectural designs in the region dating back centuries.

Amongst the native tribes that lived around this mountain it was known as “the seat of God” because of it snow-capped mountain top that has slowly melted due to climatic change. It stands as Africa’s second highest mountain at (5199m). To reach the top, one has to follow a challenging path, one that offers unbelievable first hand sightings of very rare animals. It also has tremendously varied zones of vegetation, from the grasslands, to the lush moorlands on to the barren alpine that is covered in snow and finally the summit. Even for the hardened mountaineer, Mt Kenya will prove to be a challenging and enjoyable adventure.

This is one of Kenya’s oldest towns, having been the settlement for the Swahili more than 700 Years ago. It’s a fun place to be for its culture. Enjoy and engage in the numerous donkey races and the sound of the ocean rolling onto the beaches.  Walk around the narrow alleys of the town and take in the amazing architecture or otherwise take a Dhow and explore the beautiful islands on the Indian Ocean.

It is located in the vast Rift Valley with evidence of its violent volcanic origins all around it. Beyond the northern end of the lake lies a dormant volcano, Karosi, at 1449 meters. It is home to beautiful and colorful birds and animals such as the hippos and crocodiles. The local fried fish is to die for and retails at 20shs per fish. Visitors often spend the day swimming or venturing to the cliffs to visit the native tribes that inhabit them. The beautiful L. Baringo Club and Soi Safari Lodge offer you several delicious local cuisines that will leave you desiring more.
